Our client is a global leader in supply chain automation, providing a broad range of solutions that span the entire connected device ecosystem. The company solutions are used by a wide range of logistics, consumer products, telecommunications, and other essential industries, to test and manage connected devices throughout their enterprises.

The challenge

To say that our client is a rapidly growing company is an understatement. It doubles its headcount every six months as it dynamically adapts and reinvents itself and its products to meet customer needs and new market trends. While exciting, this can make the vendor’s future needs unpredictable and strain the capacity of existing personnel. At the same time, the vendor is an essential component of its sophisticated, global customers’ supply chains. As a result, it is heavily scrutinized to ensure it meets the intent and strict legal obligations of its security and resilience commitments to its clients. Yet, it has a fraction of the budget of these clients to achieve this end state.   

Our approach

Rather than building an expensive internal security operation center team, we worked with the client to establish an outsourced model. Loki keeps 24 x 7 x 365 vigilance on the client’s corporate network and systems. This client takes advantage of Loki’s eXtended SOC, where we integrate and monitor the client’s critical cloud-based software applications and data centers. Loki’s eXtended SOC provides complete visibility to the client’s internal infrastructure and IT team. As a result, the client’s team can have full, real-time visibility into the client’s network without the cost of establishing their independent security incident and event management system. They can see in real-time whether an asset is being monitored, the alerts and high-severity security events impacting their systems and assets, and the steps the SOC and its automation platform is taking to contain and respond to threats.

The results

The client has the peace of mind of a 24x7 SOC that is a fraction of the cost of establishing its in-house capability. However, simultaneously the client has complete visibility into their system, able to run real-time queries to see the status of all systems and networks. In addition, with individual digital-asset-based scoring, the client can identify areas of system weakness and quantitatively track improvements in security posture over time.
